Having completed a heroic tier campaign the characters are moving into the paragon one and the changes made are very interesting. Most players have ditched their multiclass aspect, probably as it is very weak unless you take the paragon tier class of your multiclass. The renewed focus has improved each character and slotted them nicely into the roles DnD provides. The characters are much more crunchy and I aim to write out lists of powers with attack bonuses and damage bonuses to ensure I get it right each time and to speed up play. The DM is also going to have to adapt to the fifth player joining us - we kinda rocked the battlefield last night and proved fairly untouchable (judging by the little healing that was involved). The warlock is a very useful addition to the party and is an excellent solo monster controller. So it will be interesting to see how he ups the ante to cope with this and our expanded powers. Of course knowing Andrew, he probably was feeling out our powers to make it more interesting in the future!
We also jointly created the next scenario, which will involve an underwater adventure, by chipping in bits of the scenario as is suggested in the game red box hack. This was very helpful and allowed players to flag up things they want to see (such as undead so that I can use turn undead for the second time in the campaign!!) Obviously the DM will twist this into making something awesome in his usual style.
The campaign is explained in the DM's actual play (see 'And it begins...') and the one off fight is shown well in the photos on Fandomlife. An interesting beginning to what promises to be the next awesome part of the game.
