Just caught up with what turned out to be a very well done film. Based on the idea of the lost Ninth legion, the story is fast paced and gripping, with the added bonus of it actually being set and filmed in Scotland! If you like battles, Roman versus Pict, with a gripping storyline and good characterisation then I would highly recommend this film.
It put me in mind of the Celtic game I ran years ago with Chivalry and Sorcery and I have toyed with the idea of reving this, setting it when the Romans arrive in the Brigantes land.
Still the film itself will sit next to Gladiator as 'to watch when I want to see a good battle scene'.
